also known as the Smog Monster, Hedorah is one of Toho’s more uglier monsters,  it is also one of the more complex ones, with many forms. Hedorah has been said to be the inspiration behind Destroyah, as both monsters go through many forms. Like Destroyah, Hedorah is a very powerful opponent for Godzilla, the strongest of all in the showa series. This Monster is born from pollution, so don’t underestimate it.

Height: 30 meters-60 meters, millennium series: 120 meters

length 0.1 mm to 40 meters

mass: showa: 48 000 tons, milliennium: 70 000 tons

powers/abilities: Despite it’s looks, hedorah is one tough monster. Its whole body is corrosive ( being made of pollution and all) and just touching it can burn some one’s skin, in one of their battles, Godzilla struck by plunging his hand into Hedorah, which ended up having his hand burned badly. All of Its forms can throw corrosive sludge as a projectile. in order to change forms, all Hedorah has to do is to join up with others of his kind ( hedorah is asexual). The Monster grows more powerful as it feeds on pollution ( over all his first movie was partially a way to tell people about what people are doing to the earth is wrong, i tell about that later on). in his flying form, hedorah flies ( no! really?!) at mach 1 ( kinda slow), all the while releasing a toxic mist from his body. He is also able to shoot laser beams from his eyes, which, when struck, will release yet again a toxic smoke ( chemical warfare FTW!!) the final form of Hedorah is able to dispel a huge quantity of sludge out of his body, in one scene he uses it to try to drown Godzilla in a pit. Hedorah is also unaffected by Godzilla’s atomic ray ( science is once again confusing), and also seems to have some level of regeneration. The Hedorah that appeared in Godzilla: Final wars (yes he only appeared in two movies) was able to shoot some kind of chemical mist out of tubes in its body, but in that movie hedorah had such little screen time that we didn’t know that he was even in the film until the scene where he was blasted out of the water. (over nerfed)

Weaknesses: Hedorah has one pretty simple weakness : dehydration. If his body is dehydrated, it will lose its acidic and regeneration properties, thus making him vulnerable to attack. this is how he was defeated in Godzilla v.s Hedorah, humans used giant electrodes to electrocute him, and drying him out, Godzilla then proceeded to rip his innards out with his claws ( violence is abound)

This daunting adversary is the largest enemy Godzilla’s ever faced in his history of fame. Biollante is a mass hybrid of human, rose and Godzilla’s DNA ( yup, they are related, bro and sis ). Despite her(yes she is female) fearsome appearance, Biollante’s origins is a sad one. She was originally a human named Erika Shirigami, her father was a scientist who studies Godzilla’s cells, and tested them on plants. Later groups of people attacked Dr. Shirigami’s lab and killed her in the process, the doctor injected her cells with a rose’s, and when it was dying, he added Godzilla’s cells, thus giving it regeneration powers. However, the G-Cells mutated the plant(lol science fail) and Biollate was born.

Height: Rose form 85 meters, final form 120 meters

Weight: 100 000 tons ( rose form) 200 000 tons (final form)

Powers and abilities: in her only film appearance ( Godzilla v.s Biollante), Biollante had an wide array of abilities. As a relative of Godzilla, it’s natural for her to have regeneration power just like the rest of the biological part Godzilla’s family tree. Biollante has many tendrils, which either have mouths on them(which could spit acid or give you a bite), or have spear tips that can pierce through even Godzilla’s skin, like in the movie, where one actually went though his hand. Biollante’s mouth has teeth that can deal out MASSIVE DAMAGE!!( i had to do that) and spit out acid as well ( melted Godzilla’s face partially). And finally, if things don’t seem to work out for our plant friend, Biollante will turn into spores, and escape to the sky, and return to fight again once healed up (her main form of transportation, i mean, she is a plant..)

Weaknesses: The rose form of Biollante, when hit with Godzilla’s atomic ray, will have some kind of of effect on her cells. Also, noting that Biollante is part flower, and plants will get burned by fire…. She also has a bulb thing under her throat in her final form, which could be a weakness…

A rookie in the Godzilla Franchise, Baragon was one of the classic monsters, and one that was often forgotten in the series. He appeared in 3 movies(with one not related to Godzilla), But usually is quite forgotten. Although his popularity is pretty low in the world, in Japan he has been one of the favorites. He is also one of the only monsters close to being “cute”.

Height: Showa series 20-25 meters, millennium series: 30 meters

Mass: Showa series: 250 tons, Millennium series: 10 000 tons

Powers/abilities: Baragon is known for his strong burrowing ability, he often tunnels underground to get from point A to point B, and as an evasive and offensive attack. He can jump extremely high in a lot of his films as well. Baragon in the showa series can light up his horn(possibly to light his way underground?).  Baragon can breath a heat ray  from his mouth, it can be use for both offense and burrowing(in his video games, the beam can be breathed continuously). At the end of his first movie Baragon and the japanese Frankenstein(i will talk about him some day) fell into this giant hole in the ground(a beta version showed Frankenstein killed by an octopus), and Baragon could’ve survied because he could dig. In GMK, Baragon was stripped of his fire breath and horn glow, but can still jump high and dig.

Weakness: there has been no known weaknesses for Baragon.

This is our second special, our topic today is a weapon known as the Oxygen Destroyer, only shown in one movie, which was the first Godzilla movie in 1954 Godzilla, however i wish to point this out since it was mentioned in quite a few Godzilla movies it kinda has some importance to the series. So yeah enjoy!

The Oxygen destroyer looks pretty simple, just a ball in a cylinder right? WRONG! although it looks simple, once its activated it can remove all the oxygen around it and reduce organismsto skeletons instantly(how it can do that i have no idea). This was the very weapon that killed the original Godzilla(when used Godzilla instantly disintegrated, bones and all). The Oxygen destroyer was created by the scientist Dr. Daisuke Serizawa(as shown above). However the Doctor doesn’t want the oxygen destroyer to be turned into a weapon of war(in the American version he says he’s afraid of it falling into the wrong hands, what does that mean?), so he keeps it a secret. When he finally uses it, he killed himself along with the king of monsters. The blueprints were also destroyed so that it cannot be rebuilt. However later years the after affects awoken the crustacean Destroyah( the OD was also mentioned in many parts of this movie), and even more later in the events of GMK. Finally in 2002′s Godzilla against Mechagodzilla,Kiryu’s frame was the original Godzilla’s skeleton( which is ironic, since the skeleton was shown disappearing when Godzilla dies).  The oxygen destroyer is a basic component in the Godzilla franchise, and will be remembered as a classic.

In all of the Godzilla movies, there are some monsters that are either clones and copies or have similar genetic codes, of all these, Spacegodzillais probably the most similar looking to Godzilla himself. Spacegodzilla, despite being only appearing in 1 movie(1994′s Godzilla v.s Spacegodzilla), has become quite a fan favorite, and also has received mixed critisism. Although similar to Godzilla, the two have many differences and abilities, making Spacegodzilla being one of the most strongest opponents Godzilla has ever faced.

powers/abilities: Spacegodzilla has telekinetic powers;he can lift objects with a “cosmic tornado”.  Wherever Spacegodzilla lands, he creates a lot of crystals that give him energy, these crystals can also attack his enemies; when Spacegodzilla controls them with his mind, he can  use them as missiles( in the video games they can also shoot energy bolts and crystal chunks, its pretty cool), and they can also act as a place to hold things hostage(he did that to Godzilla’s other son, in which I’ll talk about later in the blog because its a complicated thing). Spacegodzilla can fly in his flying form which is just his head and torso with a huge crystal mountain on his back(that’s what it looks like anyway), and can reach speeds of mach 3 and also helps in space travel(he can also fly in his true form as well). If Spacegodzilla is near his crystals, he can increase in energy and can be nearly unstoppable that way. He also has a beam called the Corona beam(no idea how that name was thought up so don’t ask), which is a forked orange colored energy bolt that he can control the direction of its blast(by that i mean he can move it around in the air, yet he can’t do that in his video game appearances).  Spacegodzilla can levitate by controlling his telekinesis. The two giant shoulder crystals can both absorb energy and fire energy bolts as well. Spacegodzilla also has a crystal shield, yet in the video games he doesn’t even use it to block. This can block Godzilla’s atomic ray and some of Moguera’s(i will also talk about him in another monster entry) weapons. he can also use buildings(especially big ones) as a source of energy. the shoulder crystals can fire bolts of energy, and in his flying form he can fire electromagnetic energy rings.

Weaknesses: Spacegodzilla’s giant shoulder crystals, if destroyed, will leave him without any energy, in which he can no longer absorb them, this is how he was eventually defeated in his only movie.

The 3 Mechagodzilla’shave been very recognizable icons in the Godzilla franchise. They are one of the most powerful weapons of war built yet in movie series. Whatever their origins(for those who don’t know, the first was made by aliens while the other two were made by humans), they have blown away everyone with their technology(the use of special effects are better by the time the 3rd Mechagodzillawas revealed), they only have one goal, To prevent Godzilla from disrupting normal life or killing him if they can.

height: showa: 50 meters, heisei: 120 meters,  millennium: 60 meters

Mass:  Showa series: 40 000 tons,  Heisei: 150 000 tons,  Millennium: 36 000- 40 000 tons

powers/weapons: All of the 3 Mechagodzillashave an amazing array of arsenal to combat their opponents, each is different, but all are deadly.

The first mechagodzilla’s aresenal including an eye laser that is his main weapon, he also can fire missilesfrom his fingers, throat, and toes, which is enough to make Godzilla bleed(after Godzilla v.s Gigan,  Toho made more movies with Godzilla showing blood). The first Mechagodzilla can also fire a electric beam from his chest (which looks bad on screen). Another attack he has is a flamethrower in his mouth, but for some reason they just didn’t use it once he took off his Godzilla disguise( he wore one, but then after a little brawl with Goji he just took it off). A defensive move he has it by rotating his head very fast he can generate a force field and prevent other attacks from taking place(which is weird, since at the end of his first movie Godzilla twisted his head off). In the following movie Terror of Mechagodzilla, once his head is torn off he has a laser device( or brain) that can shoot a beam. All the mechagodzillas can fly using rocket boosters, but the alien-created Mechagodzilla 1(that’s this one) can fly the fastest( mach 5). As his most powerful attack, mechagodzilla 1 can fire all his weapons all at once, and it is also skilled at hand- to-hand combat.

The second mechagodzilla, unlike the first, was made by humans instead of aliens, it has a different array of weapons. The mec’s main weapon is his Mega buster ray which he fires from his mouth, it also has eye lasers which are golden(in the video games it’s blue).  Mechagodzilla 2 can also fire missiles from its shoulders, but these can paralyze enemies instead of just hit. Its main defensive ability is the Super heat shield NT-20 which can absorb an opponent’s energy attacks, then blast it back to them in the form known as the plasma grenade. Mechagodzilla 2 also fires cables that fires surges of electricity into its opponents, it also can merge with the garuda jet(I’ll talk about that some day) and become Super Mechagodzilla(see one of the pics above), in which he can fire two lasers from his shoulder cannons. In this form he can utilize his ultimate weapon. the G-Crusher, where he locks onto his opponents with the shock cables and hits them with all the attacks he has( i think). The second Mechagodzilla can fly as well, but only at mach 1

The third Mechagodzilla(or Kiryu), has the most arsenal of all of the 3, his main weapon is a maser cannon in his mouth that is  in both of his movies. Also he has two laser guns attached to his arms which he can fire simultaneously( these can also be detached to help movement). Another main weapon is his rocket pack on his shoulders which fires six missiles at once(in the video games however, he just fires 4 missiles from his back area), these can also be fired off to push an opponent away or cause an explosion. Kiryu’s the  weakest flyer of all the 3 battle mechs; he can only fly in short bursts with his rocket boosters. Kiryu is also skilled at physical combat, and has wrist blades on both arms, and a right hand that can turn into a drill(in his second movie, because his arm was destroyed by G0dzilla in the previous), his tail is also the only one’s that is mobile and can be used as a weapon. His most powerful attack is the absolute zero cannon, which fires a ball of energy that freezes his opponents from his chest, in his second movie, kiryu’s AZC was replaced with the more energy efficent(the AZC took 40% of kiryu’s energy) but just as powerful hyper maser cannon.

weaknesses: the first Mechagodzilla can get his head twisted off( as said above, its stupid)

the third mechagodzilla was modeled from the original Godzilla’s skeleton, so it has a “Godzilla side” that is activated each time Godzilla roars or is in danger( they’ve reinforced that), it also has problems because of it’s limited energy supply.

Gigan is one of the most popular antagonists in the Godzilla franchise. Although only appearing in 3 movies, he has been a fan favorite since his first appearance. His looks almost always like a maniacal serial killer. He is another villain, in his first movie he was an alien cyborg controlled by alien cockroaches. In his recent movie he was an cyborg god that was defeated by Mothra. His designs are awesome by far, keep up the good work peoples!  He, like King Ghidorah and Godzilla, also appear in zone fighter. now onto the bio!

height: showa series: 65 meters, milliennium series: 120 meters

weight: showa series: 25 000 tons milliennium series: 60 000 tons

powers: Gigan can fly without the aid of wings or engine, how he’s able to do this unknown. His primary weapons are his two huge scythes he call hands(what else would they be there for), in the first movies they are simply just two sickles that can penetrate even Godzilla’s skin(it actually drew blood when he slams a claw on Godzilla’s head), but in Godzilla: final wars, they we’re replaced with twin dreadful looking blades which would’ve made someone emo with(however he never got to use them as only a while later he got his head blown off by Godzilla’s atomic ray) which were also replaced by chainsaws with, oh god this is too horrifying, just look at the picture above. Gigan’s buzz-saw is just as terrifying and can also be enough to make Godzilla bleed or enough to cut through an airship’s hull. One of Gigan’s most memorable attacks is the laser beam he can shoot out of his eye(he only has one in case you were wondering) which showed itself in Godzilla:Final Wars, However the beam was suppose appear in Gigan’s first movie Godzilla v.s Giganbut was cut because they didn’t have enough money to put the laser device on the Gigan costume(yes they use suits in case you were wondering). The beam can be a straight line like in the video games or a cluster laser like in the last movie. Final Wars Gigan can also fire grappling hooks from his scythes, and his modified version(with chain saws) can shoot little home-in saw discs. In the show Zone fighter, Gigan’s claws were tipped with bombs that can deal extra damage. Finally, Gigan, like King Ghidorah, can encase himself in a crystal to aid in space travel. He can also teleport in his video games, instead of flying.

weaknesses: Gigan’s head can be easily blasted off by a strong attack(or at least stun him), hitting him on his stomach with a beam can knock him out of the air. Other weaknesses not known

Finally another famous monster of the Godzilla franchise, King ghidorah is almost always shown as an evil 3 headed space dragon that has destroyed planets ( it actually says that in the third mothra series film), killed of many senteniet life forms ) (now you know why other planets are lifeless) and single handedly marked the extinction of the dinosaurs (once again science has been proven wrong, it wasn’t an asteroid, it was King Ghidorah). other thanGodzilla, mothra, king ghidorah: giant monsters all out attack, in which he’s an earth guardian, which kinda failed. He’s Godzilla’s main foe and one of the most powerful, often godzilla needed to team up with ither monsters to defeat him. He also is one of the few characters with different origins on how he is created, and often towers over godzilla and most other monsters. Each one of his 3 heads has a different pitched roar. He also appeared in the japanese TV show Zone fighter. he is also one of the most over used monster from toho

powers: king ghidorah, no doubt, can fly(well why else would he have wings?) which like most other giant flying monsters, can create hurricane forced winds(otherwise saying he just flies over everything and the wind just destroys everything). With the fact that he has no arms or hands, his three heads make up for that part, either biting an opponent or strangling them with his neck.  Of course how can we forget his gravity beams, the most powerful attack he has(yet really it’s nothing more than these lightning bolts he fires independently from each of his 3 heads). In Rebirth of mothra 3(a non godzilla movie he also stars in as the villain, and is called Grand King Ghidorah) he can create a energy dome, have some form of mind control. and fire bolts of energy from his wing tips. And in Godzilla, Mothra, King ghidorah: giant monsters all out attack,he can also cunduct electricity from his jaws. His scales also seems to have certain resistance to energy attacks. Finally, to conduct space travel, King ghidorah can encase himself in an asteroid(or is it a crystal) which can fly very fast through space.

weakness: the films show no weaknesses, but from his frame, we can easily assume that hitting his wings will bring him down, and firing a powerful beam at the base of his 3 necks or his heads can blow them off(well that’s the best you can do anyways)

Hello and welcome to a site special. Now every five entries i will post one of these until some point of time. This entry will talk about the Mothra fairies and how they’ve had an influence over the world(believe me it’s true). OK lets go.

Shobijin: the shobijin the fairies that telepathically communicate with mothra. Their telepathy is limited only to speaking with mothra. in the movies they have appeared in they have been captured often, only to have mothra tear up half the city to save them(mothra is overprotective with them, and even created fairy mothras to protect them). they often warn the people of  Japan about what they’re doing is bad in which the japanese won’t listen and ended up paying the price.

Cosmos: the cosmos are like the shobjin that are in the heisei series. they too warn people about things they shouldn’t do. They are also telepathic and can change into the shape of a fairy mothra, which is a miniture form of mothra

Elias: these are the fairies of the Rebirth of mothra series. like all others, they are small, 6 inches or something like that. there are good ones and one evil one. They are in charge of transforming mothra leo into his different forms(this one’s a guy) . they are also equipped with different powers of offence as well.
